Never has an update drawn such criticism from several quarters. I have had more comments on Jaiku on that one post than on ALL my others. On Facebook, it drew some reactions. My statement was a knee-jerk reaction to the new that Nancy Pelosi could not get her troops together the ‘bailout’ passed. As usual, I can rely on my blog reads to put a finer point on that issue. GayPatriot does it, not once, but twice. Even re-reading the rant in my head, though, I found a tongue-in-cheek irony to that statement it over-generalization. ‘Indeed. This typical Americans comment is both spot-on yet completely missing the point! Duality FTW!!!!,’ was how edythemighty @ Jaiku put it. The statement is true as a macro-generalization of our culture, and not so true when you get down to the personal level. It is all a matter of perception. We, as ‘typical Americans,’ fail to break that perception, even among ourselves. That is what makes us ‘typical,’ and, why that statement would be ranted by a ‘typical American,’ and get the ‘typical American’ reaction it had.
