About every twelve months, I get the urge to go some ‘spring cleaning’. This involves either eliminating from the wardrobe or cleaning-out the bottom of the closet, tossing packaging for products I purchased more than a year ago. This years closet cleaning was special, other than it was on the first weekend in Summer.

At one time, I used to keep all my CDs in CD cases. Often holding 48 CDs, I could carry one to the car and listen to what I want. Or, not. The not had become more frequent. The iPod became the listening device, followed by the device I did not use. For the past couple of years, I wanted to get to the back of the closet, where the CD cases and emptied ‘jewel boxes’ were stored. Today was that day. Two large boxes filled with the emptied CD JBs, along with the ten CD ‘books’ were removed. I moved them into the spare bedroom. I need to reassumble the JCs, see which CDs are in iTunes, determine which need to be, and segregate which need to be offered to new listeners.

While cleaning the closet, I also came across a collection I stored in the back of the closet for some time :: my Billy doll collection. I completely forgot about them. At one time, I was really into them. Now, I see them as a ‘fierce tranny hot mess’, a campy joke told way too often to be funny anymore. Someone may appreciate them. I may take pictures of them, assess condition, and see if someone is willing to offer for them.To add to the joke I also had a small ‘lightning plate’, a ‘mirror ball kit’, and a small strobe light, none of which I have used practically.

After the closet was cleaned, I was amazed how much room was wasted by all the crap I had in there. Such is the power of the urge, the urge to purge, merge and surge.
