playing to win
while I like the Samsung SLM, I find three things that I do not like. One, that fact that it receives all the text messages from work entirely too well. And, that there tend to be entirely too many of them. And, they are not always the easiest to read. Two, writing text on the thing is painful. Samsung’s T9 is poor. Standard 9-key text composition is painful. Third, it has no GPS. It has no way for me to find where I am, or forward that to Brightkite or Fire Eagle. typing in addresses is just NOT happening. To that end, I bought a Blackajck II from AT&T at their ‘no commitment’ [MSRP] price. I still get to claim the rebate on it, at least. Looking back, it was the phone I should have gotten originally, had I known that hellotxt and ping.fm would be so useful.
On the way to Harrisburg this afternoon, I stopped at the casino. [It is really a glorified slots parlor, but then again...] I one at one quarter machine, did not lose much one nickle machine, but hit for $450 at a half-dollar machine. I gave back $40 at two other machines, and had a beer and a coffee while there. I still walked away with enough to cover the Blackjack before the rebate. I also had the feeling that I would also have luck with the work project. I think one part will be successful.
The only fail was the toilet at the first room I was given at the hotel I am staying at. It did not flush its contents, a contents I needed to deposit. I was not happy. I was even less so when I found the issue was not resolved while I was away. I got a new room, one with a working toilet. I have an uneasy feeling about the experience. Still, I do not plan on staying here any time in the future. That would be a win.
